Programs

UNCI is dedicated to enhancing Native intertribal relationships and revitalization primarily in the United States and Mexico through preserving and revitalizing tribal lineages, Native culture and ceremony, traditional lifestyles, environmental protection, education, health and community service.

UNCI / Uniting Natives Culturally and Intertribally was founded by a knowledgeable and dedicated group of Native individuals committed to making a positive difference in Native and Indigenous communities in the U.S. and in Mexico.

We are a 501(c)3 non-profit organization bringing together the most highly-skilled and experienced professionals in their respective areas of expertise, to share their knowledge and wisdom to help people improve and enrich their spiritual, emotional, physical, and mental well-being.

Our focus is on the wellness and healing of Native Peoples to help bring about positive change in their daily lives.

Native Cultural Exchange, Preservation and Revitalization

Purpose:
To create revitalizing Native and Indigenous intertribal cultural exchanges, bridges and interconnectedness between North American – Mexican- South American Natives through uniting and sharing intertribal cultures, fostering intertribal empowerment and support, sharing of traditional Native tribal knowledge and life-ways.

Native cultural practices including history, language, storytelling, art, myths, ceremonies, song, dance, healing, food, cooking, clothing, sewing, natural ecology, lifestyles inc, social organization, women’s experience circles, and more, are shared, focusing on enriching intertribal interactions, community health, education and ecological preservation.

UNCI organizes, hosts and supports traditional Native intertribal cultural gatherings and seasonal outdoor camps and conferences for intertribal knowledge sharing, cultural revitalization, support, education and wellness by focusing on Native Tribal cultural exchanges, primarily in Mexico and the United States. InterTribal cultural exchange event participants have included Lakota Sioux, Mayan, Kumeyaay, Huichol, Ysleta Del Sur Pueblo, Tarahumara, and many more Native and Indigenous Peoples and communities.

Healthy Native Environments and Ecologies

Purpose:
To develop and support Native communities’ grassroots environmental  education and efforts towards holistic, regenerative ecological lands stewardship, access, conservation and creation of community organic gardens and agriculture. UNCI is working to provide environmental  education and technical assistance in grassroots community regenerative organic gardening and conservation.

Water Is Life: UNCI is providing for clean drinking water sources and  filtration systems for Native communities in need.  UNCI is working on a program to provide technical help, access to resources, and education for Native communities in acquiring and regeneratively sustaining Native agricultural and ceremonial lands.

Community Well-Being and Education
Purpose:

To integrate the inspiration and empowerment of Native youth and young people towards excellence in both educational and healthy physical development. UNCI staff members speak and present programs  at community schools and school assemblies about proudly and deeply living Native and Indigenous lifestyles in today’s world. Educational empowerment for tribal and mixed-indigenous youth is accomplished through the UNCI partnership with the It Takes A Village custom Native-designed and confidence-building school book bags, backpacks and other educational tools of empowerment program. Native youth and young people are inspired to have dynamic fun and challenging physical exercise through the Native Skatepark Project which facilitates building safe and challenging skateparks for skateboarding and bmx bike riding in grassroots Native and Indigenous communities.

Inter-Tribal Unity and Social Justice

Purpose:
To continue, inspire and expand broad  Native social movements towards world peace, social justice and racial equity for Native and all peoples. UNCI organizes and hosts annual Intertribal Peace Dances which are held in Jalisco, Mexico, and in North America which foster human cultural inclusivity, communication, social and environmental justice, and world peace. Participants of the UNCI Intertribal Peace-Dance advocate for peace amongst all living things on Grandmother Earth. Native and non-Native people from all walks of life and the four directions are invited to congregate and collectively make a commitment to live as peacemakers with the environment and humanity.
